Spanish passport is the 3rd most powerful in the world

According to the new edition of the Henley Passport Index of 2022, the Spanish passport ranks in 3rd place, as it now allows visa-free access to 194 countries.

The Spanish passport is considered one of the most valuable passports in the world with a very high mobility score. Spanish passport holders have visa-free access and visas on arrival to countries such as the United Kingdom, Japan, Brazil, UAE, and the US. This allows almost instant travel worldwide. However Spanish passport holders still require a visa to enter about 35 destinations in the world, including China, India, and Russia.

In the previous edition prepared by Henley & Partners, the Spanish passport gave access to 187 countries and was ranked fifth on the list. The most valuable passport these days is Japan which allows traveling to 192 countries, followed by Singapore and closely followed by South Korea and Germany, with free access to 190 destinations.

Finland, Italy, Luxembourg, and Spain are sharing a joint third place, with visa-free access to 194 countries, while fourth place goes to Denmark, Austria, and France, allowing visa-free access to 188 countries.
