Two Ways to get empadronamiento (register at the city hall)
You can do your empadronamiento online or in person at your local ayuntamiento. Each of these methods has different requirements:
Online Registration:
If you take the digital route, then you will be required to have a copy of your landlord's DNI or NIE, along with a signed authorization letter from them, giving you permission to register at their property. You'll also need your passport or ID. The online process differs across municipalities, in Barcelona you can access via Clave, idCat or digital certificate.
In-Person Registration:

By no means does every rental agreement permit empadronamiento registration. Some landlords-epecially with 11-month contracts, which are common for temporary rentals-do not allow tenants to register.
